Clearing Fog - Hole in the Wall Beach
This is from my second shooting trip with Yves, and it happened to coincide with my last day working at HP. After packing up my cubicle and a nice farewell lunch, we bailed early to head to the coast. The forecast wasn't too great, but I had nothing better to do than go out and shoot something. Plus, if we were completely fogged in, I could always go for monochrome. We drove up and down the coast for an hour or so, and settled on the Panther Beach / Hole In The Wall area, since I had been wanting to shoot it for quite some time.
I set up on the rocks at the extreme south end of the beach to try some comps, but the tide (and surf) was high, so I couldn't shoot as close to the water as I would have liked. Nothing was really working, and the cloud cover seemed to be too much to get much color. I was getting ready to write off the night as nothing more than a good day away from the office when the clouds parted just enough for the setting sun to hit the clouds and we ended up with a good 20 minutes or so of really decent light; proving once again that you should always wait before you pack it in and give up.
